About us
Barn cats are in our blood.
We grew up in Oklahoma, where a barn without cats just wasn't a barn. They were always around back home: curled up on hay bales, keeping the feed room free of mice, and showing up at dusk to see what was for dinner. We loved them, and even back then we were the ones helping find a good spot for a cat who needed one.
Then life handed us a farm.
When we inherited a farm in Chester County, the answer was obvious. Chester County is full of horse farms, old stone bank barns and working farms, which means a lot of barns that could use a good cat. Barns need cats, and plenty of cats need a barn. Barn cats are some of the hardest workers you'll ever meet. They ask for shelter, a full bowl and a little respect, and they pay you back by keeping the place clear of rodents, season after season.
So that's what we do.
Hilltop Barn Cats matches cats who aren't cut out for life indoors with barns and farms that could use a good mouser. Every cat we take is already vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and ear-tipped. We know a lot of farmers, and those connections are how we find good barns for our cats. Then they spend about 4 weeks settling in safely at their new barn, long enough to learn that this is home. We started Hilltop Barn Cats in early 2026.
Who we are.
We're Adam and Amy, a married couple with a small farm in Chester County. We run Hilltop Barn Cats as volunteers in our spare time. If you'd like to talk, call or email and one of us will get back to you.
